What to Know Before, During & After Your Rental

General Guidelines & Information

We want every dumpster rental to go as smoothly as possible. This page covers the key guidelines that apply to all Rock Solid Dumpsters rentals, from delivery and weight limits to accepted materials and payment. These guidelines help set clear expectations so there are no surprises along the way. Our full Terms and Conditions are part of the rental contract and will be reviewed during the booking process. Consider this a basic overview of how our dumpster rentals in Canyon County and Ada County work from start to finish.

Rental Period

Your rental starts when the dumpster is delivered and wraps up on the scheduled pickup date we've agreed on. Need a little extra time? Just let us know. Extensions are usually no problem, depending on availability, and may come with a small additional fee.

Delivery & Pickup

We'll work with you to find the best spot for your dumpster. Just give us clear directions so we can place it where it's most convenient for you. We're not responsible for property damage that results from placement instructions that lead us into a problem area, but we'll always do our best to keep things smooth and protect your property.

Please keep the area around the dumpster clear for both drop-off and pickup. If overfilling or blocked access slows us down, a small extra charge may apply, but we'll keep you in the loop.

Scheduling Pickup

Let us know when you're ready for pickup. It's that simple. To help us out, please keep driveways wide open and free of parked cars or obstacles. If we need to make an extra trip due to access issues, a small fee may apply.

Using Your Dumpster

The dumpster is all yours for disposing of accepted materials (see below). We just ask that you don't move it from where we set it down. If it needs a new spot, let us know, and we'll take care of it.

Try to keep materials below the fill line and within the weight limit for your container size. That's the best way to avoid surprises with extra fees.

Safety Practices

For everyone's safety, please fill the dumpster to the rim only. Keeping debris from hanging over the sides helps protect our drivers, your neighbors, and anyone working around the container. If the dumpster is packed past the fill line, an overload fee may apply to cover the extra care needed, along with a per-day fee until the load is adjusted and ready for pickup.

Weight Limits

Each dumpster size has an included weight allowance to keep things safe and straightforward:

15-Yard Dumpster: 3,000 lbs included.
20-Yard Dumpster: 4,000 lbs included.
30-Yard Dumpster: 6,000 lbs included.

Overages are just $70 per additional ton, but there is a strict 20,000-lb weight limit on the 12-yard dumpster.

We'll go over the specifics when you book so you can plan accordingly. If you're working with heavier materials like tile, wet debris, or roofing shingles, let us know—we can help you estimate whether you'll stay within the limit.

What Can Go Inside

Feel free to load up with general waste like household items, construction debris, and yard clippings, whatever fits your project.

Here's a heads-up on what can't go in a standard dumpster:

Hazardous materials (chemicals, asbestos, medical waste)
Flammable items (gasoline, paint, propane tanks)
Electronics (TVs, monitors, batteries)
Tires (unless approved beforehand)
Appliances (unless approved beforehand)
Heavy materials like dirt, concrete, rock, and asphalt (these require our 12-yard heavy-duty dumpster and cannot go in standard containers)

If a prohibited item slips through and is found at the disposal facility, an additional fee may apply. When in doubt, ask us during booking, and we'll give you a straight answer.

Fees & Payment

By providing your credit card, you authorize us to charge it for the rental cost, delivery, and any additional fees that may apply. These could include charges if the dumpster exceeds the weight limit, contains restricted materials, isn't accessible for drop-off or pickup, or is overloaded past the fill line. We'll keep you posted if any extra costs come up.

Reserve your dumpster with a debit or credit card, and we'll keep it on file until everything's settled. If plans change and you need to cancel, a cancellation fee applies, but any remaining balance can be refunded or saved as a credit for a future order.

Permits & Permissions

You're responsible for securing any necessary permits or approvals, such as from your local city government or homeowners' association (HOA), to have the dumpster placed where you need it. We're happy to drop it off wherever works best, but it's up to you to make sure the right permissions are in place before we arrive. If you're unsure whether a permit is needed, we can help you figure it out.

Dumpster Care & Damage

If the dumpster sustains damage beyond normal wear during your rental, we'd ask you to cover the repair cost. On our end, we place and pick up containers carefully and carry equipment like Rolli Skates, spill kits, and traffic cones to protect your property throughout the process.

If something happens to the dumpster while it's on your property—theft, vandalism, or fire—let us know right away, and we'll work with you on any costs. For dumpsters placed on public property that require a permit, a new permit is needed for each job site or order beyond the original timeframe.

General Terms

These guidelines apply to all orders with Rock Solid Dumpsters, regardless of pricing, payment method, or delivery address. All rentals are governed by applicable Idaho state laws and local regulations.
